Corsair unveils an impressive evolution of its MP700 Pro line with the MP700 Pro SE. This new SSD uses the same basic components as its predecessor, but offers significantly higher performance thanks to extensive optimization of the controller and flash memory. This performance maximization allows the MP700 Pro SE to fully exploit the potential of PCIe 5.0 M.2, making it a direct competitor to the high-performance Crucial T705. In addition, the brand offers remarkable flexibility in the choice of cooling, with three distinct options: a heatsink-less version for compact configurations, a version equipped with a high-performance heatsink for intensive use, and an option integrating a liquid cooling system for users demanding thermal management.
Corsair MP700 Pro SE Optimization and Thermal Management
Corsair was one of the first to launch a high-end PCIe 5.0 SSD, the MP700 Pro. To take full advantage of it, you need a good heatsink. A sufficiently ventilated and well-ventilated chassis is also necessary to prevent overheating. However, the company quickly addressed these issues. They offered a firmware update. This allows the drive to operate more optimally in compact configurations. The SSD then benefits from better thermal management. In collaboration with Phison, Corsair developed the Max14um platform. This allows the MP700 Pro SE to achieve performance exceeding 14 GB/s. This surpasses competitors like the Crucial T700 . In addition, the manufacturer offers various options, including a model with a heatsink for liquid cooling. This firmly positions it in the high-performance SSD market.
Capabilities and flexibility
The Corsair MP700 Pro SE is available in 2TB and 4TB capacities, a strategic choice for getting the most out of a PCIe 5.0 SSD. In the gaming and PC enthusiast world, few people would be willing to invest in a high-end drive with limited storage space. Corsair offers the MP700 Pro SE in three variants: bare metal, with a heatsink, and with a liquid-cooled heatsink. The heatsink-equipped models offer better thermal management, essential for maximizing performance. This positions Corsair firmly to meet the growing demand for high-capacity, high-performance SSDs.
Exceptional performance of the Corsair MP700 Pro SE
The MP700 Pro SE offers identical peak performance for both its 2TB and 4TB capacities, reaching up to 14,000 MB/s sequential read and 12,000 MB/s sequential write, as well as up to 1,700K read IOPS and 1,600K random write IOPS. This performance maximizes the capabilities of PCIe 5.0, although future drives may offer even higher IOPS. The drive comes with a five-year warranty, with 1,400 TBW for the 2TB model and 3,000 TBW for the 4TB model. These specifications are more than sufficient for desktop or workstation use. In addition, the MP700 Pro SE includes hardware encryption, a valuable feature for those concerned about security, even on desktop systems.
